The Art of Making Your Bed

Making your bed is a simple yet transformative act that sets the tone for the rest of your day. The art of making your bed can have a profound impact on your well-being, bringing order, peace, and a sense of accomplishment to your life. However, mastering this simple act can sometimes be challenging. That's why we have outlined the PROSSIONI® way of making your bed in a few easy steps to help you perfect this essential daily ritual.

Before making your bed, ensure that your bedroom is free from clutter. Clear any unnecessary items from the surface, creating a clean and inviting environment. This step allows you to focus on the task at hand.

Take a moment to fluff and shake your pillows. This action not only plumps them up but also helps release any trapped dust or allergens, creating an inviting space for relaxation and promoting a restful night's sleep.

Carefully spread out your fitted sheet, ensuring that it is even and taut across the mattress. Smooth out any wrinkles or creases, paying attention to the corners. A neatly fitted sheet adds a touch of order and creates a foundation for the rest of your bedding.

Next, layer on your flat sheet, aligning it with the edges of the mattress and leaving a few inches from your headboard. Smooth it out to eliminate any wrinkles or folds.

Now, align your coverlet along the top edge of your flat sheet, making sure the PROSSIONI® embroidery is perpendicular to your coverlet.

Position your decorative pillows, such as your Quilted Euro Shams, in the back, with your shams and pillowcases in front at an inviting angle.

Finally, add your duvet cover and decide on your preferred finish. At PROSSIONI®, we offer three styles to choose from: the Tucked, the Fold, or the Drop. For the Tucked finish, start by tucking in the front end of your duvet and then continue to tuck in the sides one at a time. This step adds a finishing touch and gives your bed a cohesive and well-kept appearance. Remember to smooth out any wrinkles or creases along the sides and corners. For the Fold, simply lay out your duvet and gently fold it in accordance with the end of your bed. This appearance gives a gentle finish and is recommended for our Beach House Linen bedding. Finally, for the Drop, lay out your duvet symmetrically over your bed and ensure that the ends are the same length on all sides. Smooth out any wrinkles, and for those seeking perfection, you can even go the extra mile and steam the top of your duvet for a silky and polished finish.

Take a moment to step back and assess the overall appearance of your bed. Adjust any misaligned pillows, straighten the edges of the sheets and blankets, and ensure everything is in harmony.
